Why Madrid?
The Sierra the wild side of Madrid and a paradise for cyclists.
You and your bike. Close to home. In the European capital which has the most hours of sunshine per year. Varied terrain with high quality roads, which are safe and with little traffic.
Just 50km from the big city, several peaks exceed 2,000m. But the region hides other treasures too: towns with their own history and charm; a Mediterranean landscape that transmits a sense of peace; six World Heritage Sites that we can reach by bike; and unrivalled gastronomic and cultural variety.
The Sierra de Madrid… the locals’ best kept secret.
The city of Madrid shines with its own light. It is renowned for its intense blue sky and its cosmopolitan and friendly atmosphere. It has a rich history and a great culinary tradition, and the city invites you to lose yourself as you walk through its streets, stopping to enjoy one of its great many bar terraces. Madrid is an easy-going city where people know how to live well.
Accommodation
Home. Though only for a few days, the hotel will be our home. After the intense day, we will all need a good rest, so this is an important aspect of the trip.
We always stay in the same hotel, so there is no need to change locations. Much easier.
From our hotel, we set off every day on our cycling route and head to our cultural destination.
We use four-star or three-star hotels, with a complete and healthy breakfast and which offer a variety of Mediterranean food.
Dinners are in the most atmospheric places in Madrid, which are often away from the tourist trail: markets, terraces, bars or secret gardens. Enjoy the best tapas and wines of Spain.
The price is for a twin room with half board.
Individual rooms are available with a supplement of €45 per night.
We take as much care of your bike as you would yourself. The hotel has a place to store your bikes with total security and where you can carry out minor repairs and maintenance. In some hotels you can even take your bike to your room.
Do you have other preferences or hobbies? You are sure to find them in Madrid! We’ll find what you’re looking for 🙂
