¡Hola ! My name’s José and I’m from Madrid.
After many years working abroad in the legal profession, I decided to dedicate myself to what really fills me with a passion for life: cycling and culture.
A few months ago, I met up with a group of friends. As we are all keen cyclists, we shared ideas about the best ways to enjoy a cycling experience in the area around Madrid. We talked about how to make the most of the mountains and natural surroundings, but also about the cultural activities in our region that we enjoy most. azulbikes is the result of this conversation, as the project brings all these elements together. We believe that Madrid can offer keen cyclists fantastic experiences – both on and off the bike.
The people behind azulbikes have great cycling skills, a wide knowledge of the region and a positive and adventurous approach to life. We have lived in different countries, so have experienced different kinds of cycling ourselves. Different countries and regions always have something special and unique to offer. But passion for cycling can be found everywhere, and cycling enthusiasts make up a big international family.
Our vision, mission and values
We are passionate about Madrid, the place where we are from and where we live, and we are proud to share it with anyone that visits us.
AzulBikes was born from the desire to combine the best cycling that Madrid has to offer – made possible by its breathtaking landscapes and beautiful villages – with an experience of the city’s culture and renowned gastronomy.
We want to show you Madrid as lived by the people who live there. More importantly, we want you to have an unforgettable experience that enriches your life and that creates joyful memories that remain with you for the rest of your life. We want you to feel welcomed as new friends, who can gain direct access to the places that we hold dear, and who can share our food, knowledge and passion for all the good things that Madrid and Spain have to offer. We hope to build lasting connections with people that come and spend time with us in Madrid and who feel that AzulBikes has helped them to enjoy a life-changing experience.
We prioritise a respectful, tolerant and considerate attitude in all relationships. We positively value diversity, and we will always do our best to accommodate individual needs and preferences.
We believe in responsible tourism. We respect the environment and are committed to leaving a better future for our children. In line with this, we will always seek options that have less of an impact on nature.
